Adventure Awaits

A brand-new program has set up camp here at Yamamoto. It's the first annual apprenticeship program we call "The Mountaineers." Beginning February 15th, we'll be looking for the next generation of talent to join our ranks and help us move mountains.

What the heck is an apprenticeship? How do I apply? Is it paid? Read on for the answers to all those questions and more in the program FAQ below.

Frequently Asked Questions:

An apprenticeship is a curated, tailored learning experience. It emphasizes on-the-job training by a team that's fully committed to your success. Put it this way: you definitely won't be filling canteens or getting coffee for anyone but yourself.

It's also a few months longer than a typical internship program, which offers you a chance to grow into your role and gain enough experience to potentially be hired full time, depending on the agency's needs.

You know it. We offer a competitive compensation package for apprentices.

This year we'll be hiring two apprentices. Feel free to apply for any of the traditional agency positions: copywriter, designer, art director, account executive, brand strategist, motion designer, or front-end developer.

In addition, hybrid roles are extremely encouraged. Are you a copywriter who's just as interested in content strategy? A designer with a passion for motion graphics? A strategist with a knack for account services? Let's see what you've got.

But please only apply once, as duplicate applications will be disregarded.

First, you create a three-part post on Instagram explaining how you embody Yamamoto's personality: Curious, Creative and Courageous. Make sure your account is set to public so we can see your post.

Be sure to hashtag your area or areas of interest: #ArtDirector, #CopywriterContentStrategist #MotionGraphicsDesigner, #AccountServicesStrategist, #DeveloperDesignerPhotographerVideographer, etc. And don't forget to also include #TheMountaineers or we won't see your application.

And yes, fake IG accounts are totally fair game if you’re worried about confidentiality.

Then keep an eye on your direct messages. We'll reach out to invite the most Curious, Creative and Courageous Round 1 candidates to move on to Round 2 by submitting a resume and/or portfolio.

Finally, Round 3 will include an in-person interview to meet with the team.

The program runs from June 3 to November 1. At the end of your time here, we'll discuss the possibility of a full-time position at Yamamoto.

This is the first year of our new annual program. Woo-hoo!

You must be legally authorized to work in the United States to be considered.

Will you blaze the trail as one of our first-ever apprentices?

Apply by March 15th to find out.

Props for reading through the Fine Print section. If you're one of the first five people to submit the information below, a Yamamoto employee in your main area of interest will reach out to schedule a chat with you very soon.

This is a great opportunity to ask any questions you have about Yamamoto. You will still need to apply to be considered for the apprenticeship.
